**Job Description**
\- Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch break.
\- During hot weather, the start time may shift to 6:00 AM.
\- Some overtime may be available.
**Summary:**
We are seeking a skilled machinist with expertise in programming and operating CNC lathes and mills. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining methods, programming, and tooling for operations such as turning, tapering, holemaking, milling, and threading. Proficiency in machine setup, operation, and maintenance is essential. This role involves using CNC machines for the precision manufacturing of components for complex equipment.
**Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**
\- **Machining Operations:** Fabricate machined components using CNC mills, CNC lathes, and other precision equipment.
\- **CNC Programming:** Program CNC mills and lathes, selecting optimal tooling, feed rates, and paths to minimize manufacturing costs and ensure quality.
\- **Technical Interpretation:** Read and interpret technical drawings, data sheets, and specifications to ensure accurate production.
\- **Precision Measurement:** Use calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, gauges, and other instruments to take precise measurements.
\- **Machine Operation:** Turn rolls and shafts on large swing CNC lathes, and ensure proper machine setup, operation, and maintenance. Maintain a clean and safe work area.
\- **Material Handling:** Safely handle heavy, large, or awkward parts manually or with material handling equipment.
\- **Data Entry:** Record raw material consumption, machine utilization, and labor in the CMMS/ERP software.
\- **Additional Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned.
**Required Qualifications:**
\- **Education:**
\- An Associate’s Degree in Machining Technology or a comparable degree from an accredited college is preferred.
\- A Machining Technology Certificate will be considered if the candidate has relevant work experience.
\- **Experience:**
\- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC mills and lathes.
\- Experience with DMG Mori equipment is preferred.
\- **Skills:**
\- Proficiency in programming via G code.
\- Ability to program using CAM software is a plus.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
\- **Programming:**
\- Ability to program CNC lathes and mills using CAM software.
\- **Software:**
\- Experience using AutoCAD software is preferred.
\- Familiarity with Google G Suite is preferred.
\- **Additional Attributes:**
\- Good communication and collaboration skills.
\- Willingness to work overtime as needed
