Overview
The Senior Electrical Engineer (Billet Co-located at PMO) position is responsible for providing expertise to contract or office and Intelligence Community worldwide sites on the electrical engineering aspects of the installation, modification, operation, and maintenance of facilities, mission systems, support systems, and power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
Responsibilities
The Senior Electrical Engineer's responsibilities include:
- Providing expertise to contract and Intelligence Community worldwide sites on the electrical engineering aspects of the installation, modification, operation, and maintenance of facilities, mission systems, support systems, and power generation, distribution, and grounding systems.
- Demonstrating strong technical ability and creativity at a fundamental level in 2D and 3D electrical computer-aided design and modeling.
- Developing complex plans based on input from clients and personal knowledge, utilizing government standards.
- Developing facility designs to include building power systems, lighting design, and load calculations to meet critical electrical requirements.
- Preparing construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates.
- Providing leadership and training for other engineering team members.
- Serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) regarding electrical facility design, construction, maintenance, and operation.
- Providing building and facilities condition assessments for electrical systems.
- Performing electrical engineering power system calculations including load flow, short circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies.
- Serving as a technical expert for electromagnetic interference mitigation.
- Reviewing facility and equipment design packages to verify technical correctness and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Ensuring the proper installation and operation of complex UPS and generator systems that maintain highly reliable and redundant power to critical equipment.
- Performing quality assurance of electrical construction to ensure the quality of workmanship and compliance with standards.
- Providing SME input to the preparation of technical publications including contract or office regulations and pamphlets.
- Being immediately deployable to worldwide locations in potentially hazardous work environments to perform QRC/technical support to US forces.
