Job Title: Senior Refinery Safety Specialist
Location: Wilmington Refinery
Job Overview:
The Senior Refinery Safety Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing safety programs to reduce workplace injuries and ensure compliance with safety regulations. This role involves collaborating with Operations, Maintenance, and other stakeholders to manage and mitigate risks, as well as maintaining regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and programs to reduce injury risks.
- Partner with Operations and Maintenance to address safety concerns and implement risk controls.
- Conduct safety training and adjust content based on audience needs.
- Maintain compliance records and interact with inspectors during safety audits.
- Evaluate new processes and chemicals for safety compliance.
- Lead safety events (e.g., annual training, safety fairs) and communicate safety metrics.
- Serve as a site subject matter expert (SME) on safety areas (fall protection, hazardous energy, PPE, etc.).
- Mentor junior health and safety professionals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Health and Safety (ABET accredited).
- Minimum 5 years of safety experience.
- Ability to work on-site at the Refinery.
- Eligible to obtain a TWIC.
Compensation:
-$115k-150k
