My client is a rapidly growing spice manufacturing company based in Maryland and las Vegas, expanding their facilities to meet increased demand. With three factories currently in operation, they are focused on driving efficiency, safety, and sustainability through automation. They are seeking a skilled Automation Engineer to join their team and lead the automation efforts across our facilities.
Position Overview :
The Automation Engineer will be responsible for automating and optimizing the processes in the 2 currently running factories, ensuring they remain up to industry standards for efficiency, productivity, and best practices. You would also be involved with the creation of a new plant that is opening in 2025. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations, particularly in similar industries, with a proven track record of implementing automation solutions.
Key Responsibilities :
- Automation Implementation : Design, develop, and implement automation systems across all three factories to streamline manufacturing processes.
- Maintenance & Support : Continuously monitor, maintain, and upgrade automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency through innovative automation solutions, and lead initiatives to improve system reliability and reduce manual tasks.
- Collaboration : Work closely with operations, production, and maintenance teams to understand current processes and provide solutions that integrate seamlessly with existing systems.
- Compliance & Best Practices : Ensure all automation processes comply with industry standards and safety regulations, while implementing best practices in plant operations.
- Documentation & Training : Maintain detailed documentation for automation systems and provide training for staff to ensure they understand how to operate and troubleshoot systems as needed.
Qualifications :
- Experience : Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience in automation in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on operations plants. Experience in the food, spice, or similar industries is highly preferred.
- Problem-Solving : Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and solving technical issues.
- Project Management : Ability to manage automation projects from inception to completion, including timelines, budgets, and coordination with cross-functional teams.
- Communication : Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of working with both technical and non-technical teams.
Education :
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced certifications in automation are a plus.
