The Alaska Department of Fish and Game, Division of Administrative Services is recruiting for a Data Processing Manager 1 (Software Developer Manager) located in Juneau, Anchorage, or Fairbanks!

What you will be doing: Are you a tech-savvy problem solver with leadership skills? The Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG) Division of Administrative Services is looking for a software development manager to lead our dynamic team and drive our projects to success.

1. Lead and motivate a team of .NET developers, as a scrum master, ensuring efficient project execution and high-quality deliverables.
2. Oversee the entire software development lifecycle, from planning to deployment and implement process improvements using tools such as Azure DevOps.
3. Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project requirements and scope for Azure, mobile, and on-premises applications.
4. Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging growth and skill development among team members using training tools such as Pluralsight.

Who we are looking for: We are looking for someone with the following competencies:

1. Software Development: Knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for designing, developing, and testing software in a given environment.
2. Web Technology: Knowledge of the principles and methods of web technologies, tools, and delivery systems, including web security, privacy policy practices, and user interface issues.
3. Software Engineering: Knowledge of software engineering design and development methodologies, paradigms, and tools; the software life cycle; software reusability; and software reliability metrics.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

1. Data Systems: Knowledge of computer hardware and software development and systems as they apply to the conception, specification, analysis, planning, development, installation, test, modification and use of data handling and computing systems.
2. Database Management Systems: Knowledge of the uses of database management systems and software to control the organization, storage, retrieval, security, and integrity of data.
3. Leadership: Influences, motivates, and challenges others; adapts leadership styles to a variety of situations.
4. Developing Others: Develops the ability of others to perform and contribute to the organization by providing ongoing feedback and by providing opportunities to learn through formal and informal methods.
5. Critical Thinking: Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
6. Client Engagement/Change Management: Knowledge of the impact of change on people, processes, procedures, leadership, and organizational culture; knowledge of change management principles, strategies, and techniques required for effectively planning, implementing, and evaluating change in the organization.
