Title: Senior Software Engineer, Enterprise Systems

Position Overview:
As a member of Acadian's Information Technology Department, the Senior Engineer will work directly with an IT Delivery Team supporting ongoing cash flow-related projects within the firm’s various Client Service, Operations, and Portfolio Construction Teams. The ideal candidate should have experience with full-stack software development, financial systems, and prior experience working in an asset management firm with hands-on experience in portfolio accounting data.
The successful candidate is a motivated self-starter with an aptitude for quickly learning new skills and environments, effectively multitasking on multiple deliverables, and contributing to team growth by offering insights and support to foster collaborative problem-solving and innovation.
Acadian supports a hybrid work environment, with employees on-site in the Boston office 3 days a week.
What You'll Do:
- Work with an agile delivery team to enhance and support cash flow software applications and workflow automations.
- Build new cloud-based solutions to support data quality, workflow automation, and simplify/centralize data for reporting and ad-hoc analytics.
- Work directly with our business partners to design, implement, test, and deploy solutions.
- Lead and inspire the team by guiding the adoption of new technologies and platforms and possess the vision to redesign existing architectures for enhanced performance and innovation.
- Support the daily operations of our business partners and help to research and triage reported issues.
- Analyze and document business systems and proactively identify problems and opportunities for improvement.
- Perform programmatic data analysis, define data governance and quality checks, and define process controls.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and timeliness by implementing robust data management practices.
- Document system architecture, design decisions, and operational procedures to facilitate knowledge sharing and future maintenance.
We’re Looking for Teammates With:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience as a software engineer.
- Prior experience working in financial services, with a focus on investment accounting, operations, cashflows, and security reference data.
- Proven leadership and innovation skills, with a vision to guide the team in adopting new technologies and platforms, and to redesign existing architectures for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
- Experience working in an Agile environment (e.g., Scrum, Kanban).
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Technology Stack (.NET Core, C#, SQL Server).
- Experience designing relational databases and/or reporting data warehouses.
- Experience building APIs and services for data access and integration purposes.
- Prior Experience Working With Amazon Web Services Is Preferred.
- Prior experience with the Snowflake Data Platform is a plus.
- Familiarity with Containers, Service Discovery, Secrets Management, Microservice Architecture, and Infrastructure as Code.
- Additional application/toolset experience: Jira, GitLab, Consul, Vault, Docker, Terraform, Sonarqube, NewRelic.
- Ability to work and learn independently with limited oversight.
