Job Description
KEY RESPONSIABILITIES
  • Advocate for safety and quality in all manufacturing processes, ensuring products meet stringent industry standards.
  • Implementation and release of new products into the manufacturing areas. The main tasks to achieve this outcome are:
  • Project management and continuous improvement initiatives:
  • Technical Troubleshooting
  • Working with product engineering to evaluate the design with respect to manufacturability and providing workable design change suggestions.
  • Design and validate the processes (work instructions, quality inspection checklists, first article inspection, ect) for the new product introductions.
  • Calculate standard manufacturing cost.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product quality.
  • Implement and thoroughly monitor corrective actions to ensure lasting improvements in manufacturing processes.
  • Provide technical leadership and support in any changes in Bill of Materials, manufacturing drawings, manufacturing routers, cost, supplier and other changes affecting form, fit and function of the product.
  • Manage engineer design changes by communicating and implementing changes with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide informal leadership and coaching to associates and leads in the area to implement best practices.
  • Conduct investigations to identify root causes of supply chain or manufacturing issues.
  • Disposition non-conformances recorded during the manufacturing process and driving corrective actions.
  • Qualify and develop new and existing vendors to ensure adherence to quality and efficiency standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Quality Management System (QMS), Health Safety and Environmental (HSE), and industry quality standards, supporting QA/QC teams with audits and process development. Attend safety training and wear required safety equipment as appropriate.
  • Infrequent travel to other manufacturing locations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • One of the following:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
    • Associates Degree in Drafting Technology or (2) years of vocational training or equivalent.
    • Five (5) years of relevant experience in leu of formal educational.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to suggest/adapt/implement changes in a fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED:
  • Two (2) or more years of hands-on experience in manufacturing environment.
  • Proficient in Solidworks, Teamcenter, JD Edwards
  • Proficient in the creation and maintenance of production routers and work instructions.
  • Experience with GD&T, engineering drawing, or wiring diagrams.
  • Manufacturing experience in assembly, welding, or powder coating.
  • Troubleshooting Mechanical and Electrical equipment experience.
  • Experience working directly with production equipment and maintenance thereof.
  • Experience managing projects independently.
