ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Safely performs installation, removal and/or maintenance to electrical lines for lighting, office and plant equipment.
• Perform installation and repair of automatic controls and switches, on all types of equipment included timer panels, numerical control panels and electromechanical panels.
• Performs minor repairs to printed circuit boards.
• Performs repair work on electric motors, except rewinding.
• Works in conjunction with facilities or department manager in laying out work to be done.
• May create and/or work from wiring diagrams, blueprints or sketches.
• Determines material necessary for job and informs facilities manager.
• Must know proper types or sizes of materials required according to loads.
• Subject to emergency call at all times.
• Uses metal joining and burning equipment (weld, braze, solder).
• Uses drill press, hand and stationary power tools, grinding equipment, threading equipment, precision levels, and standard hand tools.
• Performs preventative maintenance utilizing equipment such as grease guns, meters, and other test equipment, which might be required for adjustments to equipment.
• Performs janitorial function and is required to keep area clean and orderly.
• Participates in and delivers on-the-job training as necessary.
• Drives powered industrial truck, forklift, and man-lift.
• Ability to perform Logics 5000 edits on PLC’s.
• Disassembles repairs, reassembles or replaces defective electrical equipment such as plugs, switches, outlets, controls, ballasts, motors using hand tools, testing equipment and service manuals.
• Tests installation to verify and insure continuity, compatibility and safety of electrical work performed using ohmmeter, amp meter, voltmeter, oscilloscope, or other testing device as necessary.
