The TikTok Privacy & Security Compliance Platform team is responsible for building easy to use and efficient tools for compliance work for our users across the company, including legal, data protection office, thousands of TikTok Engineers and TikTok leadership. The team is working on TikTok's privacy protection-related projects, including Data Retention, Data Minimization, and tools like DPIA, Privacy Control Framework, Risk Management for legal/PDPO team, and aims to improve the user experience and efficiency of R&D's daily compliance tasks.

Responsibilities

1. Work closely with talented engineers, product managers, and designers to identify customer needs and build innovative solutions to solve them.
2. Quickly ramp up on existing features and be responsible for shipping the features into production.
3. Analyze and optimize software for quality, efficiency, and performance.
4. Expect your scope of responsibilities to grow quickly with a willingness to keep learning and growing.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Knowledge and experience in software development in team settings.
2. Excellent programming, debugging, and optimization skills in one or more general-purpose programming languages.
3. Ability to learn quickly and deliver high-quality code in a fast-paced, dynamic agile team environment.
4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science or related fields.
2. Knowledge and experience with programming languages such as Javascript, Golang, etc.
3. Experience with databases such as MySQL, MongoDB, etc.
4. Knowledge and experience with at least one modern web development framework.
5. Practical knowledge of algorithms, patterns, and tradeoffs of distributed systems’ design.
6. Interest and knowledge of privacy principles in the software industry.

Job Information:

For Pay Transparency

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $112000 - $177000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
