Position overview

 

As a  Process Engineer  at Jolly Pets, you will play a key role in analyzing, designing, and implementing streamlined processes within our manufacturing operations. Your focus will be on continuous improvement, process automation, and developing unique solutions to our growing business. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in lean manufacturing, process optimization and automation and equipment reliability best practices. This role will report directly to the Operations Director of Jolly Pets.

 

What You’ll Do

 

Process Optimization

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams and leadership to design and implement optimized processes that enhance operational efficiency and product quality
  • Identify issues and root causes through data collection, problem solving methodologies and direct observation; conveying avenues for transformation to management and front line staff
  • Develop and create simple machines to automate tasks in operations

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in Kaizen events focused on rapid process improvement and drive implementation
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing best practices and innovative solutions.
  • Conduct regular process audits and provide recommendations for optimization.
  • Develop and train front line staff on standard work

 

Safety & Quality Assurance

  • Develop and implement engineering process controls designed to eliminate and mitigate safety risks and quality defects
  • Champion safe practices in the workplace

 

Equipment Reliability

  • Develop and champion machine reliability best practices.
  • Author Preventative Maintenance procedures and ensure compliance

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing)
  • 3-5 years of experience in process engineering and lean manufacturing
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Effective communication skills both written and verbal
  • Roto-Mold or plastics background is a plus
