Fast paced electrical company in Wilmington, MA looking for an Electrical Estimator.
- Currently, we are looking for someone who has electrical experience and is familiar with commercial and residential work.
- Schedule and attend walk-through for new projects.
- Can read and understand electrical symbols and drawings.
- Prepares work to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
- Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
- Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
- Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
- Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
- Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.
- A valid driver's license is a must with reliable transportation.

ROLE SUMMARY: (This is a description of the role’s general summary but not limited in scope to the entire role’s duties) Estimating, Planning, organizing, Project Management, design assist and working closely with the Electrical Department Manager.
•\tEffectively estimate projects with or without construction documents.
•\tCoordinate between departments to avoid pitfalls between specifications sections.
•\tInterpret specifications, blueprints and addendums.
•\tHave the ability to assist in the design of projects.
•\tPrepare and communicate requests for information to clarify project scope during estimating process.
•\tEvaluate most efficient methods of installation and material usage to minimize projected costs/bids.
•\tUse “Estimation/Digital Takeoff” estimating program or approved substitute program.
•\tPrepare competitive bids as required (bid forms, budgets, etc....) to meet the project’s needs.
•\tMake notes or clarifications on Contract/ field drawing to assist Electrical Department Manager, Superintendent, and foreman with installation.
•\tReview with Electrical Superintendent job estimate and takeoff as to when to mobilize project, material, and manpower requirements.
•\tPrepare material purchase orders and subcontracts after scoping out/negotiating with the different parties for the best pricing.
•\tReview with shipping/receiving as to project equipment needs and material deliveries.
•\tConduct turnover meetings for contracted projects and provide budgetary information and defined scope to operations group.
•\tAttend pre-bid meetings as requested.
•\tAttending closeout meetings to review outcome of projects and compare estimate to actual costs.
•\tEstablish and maintain working relationships with potential clients and designers.
•\tAttend organization meetings and like activities to promote business for the electrical/Modern Electric, Inc.
•\tLead total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design specifications, budget, schedule, and company Core Values. Includes interfacing with and supporting client representatives, B&I departments, subcontractors, vendors, etc.
•\tProvide field employees with the necessary support to allow the project to be completed expeditiously.
•\tEstablish job cost breakdowns and schedule of values to ensure positive cashflow of project. Review, update and approve all project billings monthly to ensure timely submission.
•\tCoordinate the completion and perform review of all submittal data, operation and maintenance manuals, shop drawings, and as-built drawings to ensure these are in accordance with the construction documents and schedule.
•\tPerform release and coordinate timely delivery of large equipment as required by project schedule and site logistics.
•\tEstablish project manpower schedule, in collaboration with trade supervisors, to effectively execute project scope.
•\tManage subcontractor scopes as required by the contract.
•\tProvide technical assistance for all project related scopes, i.e., engineering, interpretation of drawings, recommendation of construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
•\tInitiate and maintain extra work estimating and timely issuance of change orders to ensure financial compensation.
•\tConduct weekly on-site visits/inspections as required to ascertain productivity of trades, efficient use of materials and equipment, and contractual performance of the project.
•\tMonitor project costs and forecast future project costs monthly, utilizing labor production and trade feedback to ensure accuracy. Attending monthly cost review meeting with executive group to report status and budget adjustments as applicable.
•\tDistribute, follow up, and respond in writing to all punch list items in a timely manner.
•\tUpdate project meeting minutes weekly and provide project status reports during weekly staff meetings.
•\tAttending weekly project management meetings and providing input on those items related to the department.
•\tThe Electrical Department Manager may at any time add other responsibilities.
M INIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Minimum requirements are those concerned with the very minimal qualifications sought for the role to include “education, experience, licenses, certificates, permits, etc., appropriate to the role)
•\tAbility to read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings and sketches.
•\tFull knowledge and understanding of all electrical products, equipment, and installation procedures.
•\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills
