Formosa Plastics is a privately held company headquartered in Livingston, New Jersey. Our core business, producing plastic resins and petrochemicals, takes place at three wholly-owned chemical manufacturing subsidiaries located in Delaware City, Delaware, Baton Rouge, Louisiana and Point Comfort, Texas.
POSITION OBJECTIVE

  • This position is responsible for developing new or existing products of SPVC resins on various types of application process and providing assistance to customers and internal business groups to enhance SPVC resins sales. It also needs to provide creative ideas and assistance to operation units. All while sustaining a safe and healthful working environment that meets environmental, health, safety regulations, and company requirements.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY
Customer Focus : Provide technical support to gain new business and maintain existing customers. Maintain customer contact and develop new contacts. Provide technical support to improve the quality of all product lines. Develop new business opportunities. Work closely with customers to be a technical solution provider.
Product and Technology Development: Develop and deliver new and improved products in a timely manner to generate value creation and/or cost saving; improve the competitiveness of our product portfolio and product quality to meet customers' needs.
Operations Support: Provide regulatory support to the Operating Units which will enable the Unit to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products and avoid unscheduled process interruptions.
Lead and Facilitate the fulfillment of product delivery and Commitments: React with expediency and accuracy to determine the root cause of customer problems and provide remote assistance to resolve them. Recommend improvements to products specifications and quality measurement. Handle customer complaints and update progress regularly with sales and customers and make recommendations. Provide the help for customers' requests. Provide expertise targeted at improving and strengthening internal and external relationship to facilitate sales and business.
Initiate Action as the Critical Liaison: Integrate and utilize cross-functional internal contacts and external contact resources to solve internal/external customers' challenges.
Leadership and Staff Development: Implement/educate/train and adhere to all company policies and procedures including but not limited to, ISO, personnel, quality, environmental, health, safety, regulatory and company requirements. Provide coaching and guidance for individual team member development.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree preferably in Chemical Engineering, Polymer/Materials Sciences and Engineering, or Chemistry required; other related engineering disciplines considered.
  • 0 ~ 3 years' experience in a petro-chemical refinery environment; and experience in polymer chemistry/physics, structure-property relationships, polymer processing, additive formulations, analytical problem solving, and troubleshooting skills is a plus
