Disney Parks, Experiences and Products is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a passion for building world-class products and enabling our businesses to be future ready. We are looking for an engineer who has full stack programming experience and is enthusiastic to build and maintain new applications, improving our Guest and Cast experiences.

You will:
  1. Design and implement reliable, high-throughput, low latency, scalable and well-documented code to tackle sophisticated algorithms.
  2. Collaborate with engineers, product owners, and other partners to propose extensible, reusable and performant solutions.
  3. Proactively seek opportunities to reuse or generalize existing services and implementations.
  4. Experiment, develop proof of concept with relevant new technologies.
  5. Conduct code review pull-requests with consistent scrutiny.
  6. Able to work independently to analyze and solve issues as an individual contributor.
  7. Troubleshoot, fix problems reported in lower and production environments.
  8. Write unit and component tests to ensure delivery of high quality code.
  9. Monitor and proactively improve production run quality of applications.
  10. Work in a scrum team and provide your daily updates.
  11. Estimate effort for assigned development tasks, assist in estimating level of effort for less senior level developers.

Required Skills and Experience:
  1. 3+ years of software engineering, analysis and design with full software development lifecycle experience.
  2. 3+ years with Internet technologies, microservices architectures.
  3. 3+ years of developing cloud native applications, preferably in AWS.
  4. Experience with scripting languages like JavaScript and frameworks such as Angular/React.
  5. Experience with Docker / Kubernetes.
  6. Strong understanding of object-oriented programming with an understanding of design principles.
  7. Knowledge of CI/CD tools.
  8. Demonstrated experience with Java, Spring Framework, SQL and NoSQL-based databases, writing complex SQL queries and building highly scalable and highly performant distributed applications and web services.
  9. Demonstrated strong analytical skills.

Preferred Skills:
  1. Develop prototypes of new technologies, exposure to GraphQL / Graph DBs.
  2. Experience in the commerce space and products / pricing / inventory domains.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:
  1. Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
  2. Bachelor's Degree in computer science or similar field or related equivalent experience.
  3. Domain knowledge in multiple technical and business areas.
