Overview:
Forsyth Barnes has partnered with a major outdoors supplier going through growth period. They are looking to have a Lead Platform Engineer join their IT department. This will be a critical role in shaping and executing their platform strategy, managing technical debt, and help drive their growth and long-term success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of Kubernetes clusters on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), ensuring high availability and scalability.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) components using Terraform, and support CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and Flux CD.
- Collaborate with development teams to optimize code deployment processes, ensuring smooth integration and automated deployment.
- Provide on-call production support for Kubernetes ecosystems, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure minimal downtime.
- Monitor and optimize Kubernetes performance using tools like Grafana, and drive Kubernetes platform strategy as a thought leader.
Requirements:
- Extensive experience managing complex Microsoft AKS environments, with expertise in Azure services, Terraform, Docker, and Kubernetes (Helm).
- Proven ability to design and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Flux CD, and support seamless code integration on Kubernetes platforms.
- Strong focus on security best practices, ensuring secure deployments within Kubernetes environments.
- Skilled in monitoring and troubleshooting with tools like Grafana and experienced with Kuma/Kong Mesh and Kong API gateways.
- Deep experience in platform architecture, SRE, and working with Enterprise Architecture teams, engaging with governance bodies like ARB and CAB.
