Veterans Preference Sr Filter Design Engineer -7993SUMMARY: We are looking for a Senior Filter Design Engineer with a background in RF design, communication skills, and drive to produce best in class products. The candidate will be responsible for designing Acoustic Filters for Wi-Fi and Automotive applications. Applicant will work closely with a core design engineering team and other cross-functional team members to bring cutting edge Wi-Fi 7/8 products to the market.RESPONSIBILITIES:Design and development of BAW and SAW filter components for Wi-Fi and Automotive applications.Design microwave acoustic devices using a variety of design techniques, including conventional bandpass filters, ladder filters, notch filters, CRF filters, acoustic-assisted filters, etc. It involves the knowledge of circuit simulation, front end radio architecture, communication systems, RF characterization, micro-electronics technology, and fabrication processes.Perform acoustic and electromagnetic (EM) simulations using a combination of commercially available tools as well as ourstate-of-the-art internally developed tools and provide final device layout to support photo mask set creation.Interact with BAW and Saw process engineers and RandD team, using knowledge of fabrication process variations and capabilities.Collaboration with PA and LNA/Switch designers to optimize module performance.Work with characterization and test engineers to evaluate and diagnose devices using the latest in RF/Microwave test equipment and coordination of internal and external samples.Work with product engineering to transfer new product to production.Contribute to the continuous improvement of design flow, method and cycle time.Presentation of design reviews and weekly design/evaluation status.QUALIFICATIONSBSEE (minimum) with 8 years of experience, MSEE or Ph.D. (preferred) with 5 years of experienceIndustry or academic experience to include each of the following: RF circuit design (incl. microwave resonator, filter, coupler, antenna, amplifier); EM simulation (HFSS or equivalent); layout design and troubleshooting; impedance matching and tuning; filter component evaluation and integration; RF device characterization and system level measurements.Direct experience of BAW or SAW design preferredKnowledge of microelectronic fabrication and high-volume manufacturing, statistical analysis and six-sigma method for process improvementGeneral knowledge of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth protocols and communication standards desiredCommunication and presentation skillsAbility to work independently, as well as in larger teamsEmployer conducts background checks.We are an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) / Affirmative Action employer and welcome all qualified applicants.
