We are currently looking for (1) Electrical Controls Engineer for our location in Cleveland, Ohio.

** Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following

**:

**

**

  • Follow

and enforce all company policies and rules, including a primary focus on safety

  • Effectively manage maintenance budget.

  • Maintain

the Preventative Maintenance Program and ensure completion and effectiveness.

  • Troubleshoot machinery as

required to identify problems and implement effective corrective measures.

  • Schedule

daily work for both shifts utilizing maintenance handoffs meetings and consistent audit methods.

  • Ensure all

maintenance requests are investigated, necessary actions completed, and follow-up with cell leads to ensure satisfaction.

  • Continually

evaluate the machinery and process to identify areas of improvement.

  • Maintain

adequate Parts inventory to ensure speedy repairs of equipment.

  • Maintain

department cell board, including cell metrics tracking, second shift handoff, problem countermeasure board, and prioritized work for team.

  • Use

and train team members on use of problem solving tools (e.g. Fishbone, 5-Whys, PDSA’s, Pareto, etc.)

  • Actively

participate in rapid improvement events and projects.

  • Train

team members as needed using Training Within Industry (TWI) standard.

  • Lead

and attend cell-level and plant-level daily meetings to help direct work resources and priorities.

  • Assist purchasing

as necessary to obtain best pricing for parts, services, and work.

  • Plan out and

schedule major repairs and/or removal or installation of equipment.

  • Conduct electrical/hydraulic

pneumatic design, peripheral device programming, machine PLC programming.

  • Coordinate the machine debug, power-up,

and machine validation with build and electrical teams and provide customer documentation as needed.

  • Ability

and comfort programming PLC, HMI, Motion Control, Pneumatics, Hydraulics, Vision Systems and other types of electronic devices.

  • Flexibility

and comfort troubleshooting issues that arise.

  • Professional

management of customer relationship and requests.

  • Real-time

communication with company management on developments.

  • Provide

application/control systems design and development for systems of varying complexity.

  • Develop

and evaluate alternative system solutions that meet stated requirements.

  • Modify program/system logic involving multiple systems and

subsystems.

  • Develop

proficiency in several programming languages and control device networks for PLCs, PCs, or DCS systems.

  • Interpret customer requirements,

address design and engineering parameters, and ensure solutions are

implemented

accurately and within budge.

  • Write functional requirement specifications, including

safety standards, interlocks and alarms, based on

expected

functionality.

  • Take

a lead role in project progress and decision making, especially with less-senior employees.

  • Integration of machine control

hardware.

  • Layout of machine control panels.

  • Wiring

diagrams.

  • Manages electrical elements of

R&D projects.

  • Processing

of Engineering Change Orders.

  • Support

to production departments and startups.

  • Bill

of Material and Part creation/management,

  • Cost/Time Estimation of

projects.

  • Limited

travel as necessary.

Other Duties:

Include but are not limited to the following:

Project-based work, (equipment quotes, installation of equipment and assistance in operator training).

** Qualifications:

** Required Education, Skill, and Experience:

**

  • Able to

identify problems and develop solutions

  • Design

for cost effectiveness and manufacturability.

  • At least eight (8)

years’ experience with automated equipment / machinery.

  • Degree in

Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering preferred.

  • Ability

to design electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical or similar software.

  • High

regard for safety standards.

  • Experience successfully managing technical

teams and technical projects through the entire project cycle.

  • including initiating,

planning, executing, monitoring, commissioning, and closing phases.

  • Familiar

with common Project Management tools for managing budget, schedule, and scope of various size projects.

  • Experience mentoring engineers

on a technical level.

  • Rockwell

/ ABB / Siemens experience

MMI and

PLC programming.

  • Electrical

drafting of wiring diagrams.

  • Ability

to work independently and assist others in their development.

  • Ability

to delegate and follow-up for effective accountability.

  • Strong

Sense of Urgency.

  • Proficient

working on multiple projects/tasks simultaneously.

  • Solid

computer skills with a variety of software tools including Microsoft Office products.

  • Good

verbal/written/technical communication.

  • Team player,

able to take direction and be self-directed.

  • Willingness to

work in Continuous Improvement environment committed to executing the tenants of Lean Manufacturing.
