We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager, to play a pivotal role in our newly created intelligence engineering team. The primary responsibility is to lead the newly formed engineering team.

The application & team is in an early stage of development, therefore we expect members to have a founder mentality and be in the driving seat, supporting product managers in the definition of the ideal solution. Being able to make wise tradeoffs between moving fast and ensuring reliability and future proofing will be a daily challenge. We expect flexibility while holding to solid engineering principles and contributing to a positive environment where constructive criticism is essential to personal growth and building better products.

This is a hybrid role, we are seeking candidates in the following areas; Reston VA, Matawan, NJ, Tribeca, NY, Atlanta, GA, Santa Clara, CA, and Burbank / Glendale, CA.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of senior engineers, enabling them to do their best work.
  • Actively contribute to the engineering decisions needed to advance our Workflow engine solution, working side by side with engineers on the team.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and customer support, to align on product vision and deliverables.
  • Drive the architectural decisions and lead the implementation of scalable, robust, and efficient systems.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team.


Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering in at least 2 different companies.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as engineering manager, managing teams of >4 people.
  • Demonstrable experience with Conversational AI or workflow automation frameworks.
  • Demonstrable experience with Kubernetes and microservices infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable experience with AWS services, especially EKS.
  • Working knowledge of Java and NodeJS.
  • Knowledge of software development and SDLC best practices.
  • Knowledge of QA best practices especially for integration testing and load testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to make and explain trade offs.
  • Strong communication skills, especially in writing, and ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • A self-starter attitude with experience in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.
