What does a Software Development Engineer do at Workday?
- Design and implement features and components in a team-oriented environment.

- Collaborate closely with product managers to understand customer needs and translate them into software requirements and execution plans.

About You
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years of distributed systems engineering experience with Java, Kotlin, Golang, or Scala.
Other Qualifications
- Proficiency with major development tools like git, Docker, Gradle, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience building scalable data pipelines and new tools/API integrations.
- Solid understanding of distributed computing and multi-cloud concepts using AWS, GCP.
- Expertise in containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Helm, Kubernetes).
- Experience designing and building large scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems.
- Strong communication/organizational skills and ability to balance multiple priorities.
- A mentality of continuous improvement with a passion for quality, scale, and security in software development.
- Good team interaction with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in startup-like environments.
- Adaptable and resilient, able to handle changing priorities and challenges.
- BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Workday Pay Transparency Statement
The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. This role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need.

Primary Location Base Pay Range: $148,000 USD - $222,000 USD
Additional US Location(s) Base Pay Range: $140,600 USD - $248,400 USD
