Mechanical Engineer

Our client, a Biotechnology Manufacturing firm located in Wilmington, Delaware, is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer with a passion for innovation and manufacturing. The Mechanical Engineer will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, understanding of ISO, experience in supporting mechanical break/fix requests and knowledge of incoming supplier/vendor quality management processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide mechanical design and troubleshooting support to address production challenges.
Manage vendor quality by conducting assessments and ensuring compliance with ISO or relevant quality management standards
Develop mechanical reliability plans to optimize critical equipment performance and longevity.
Lead engineering improvement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices and innovative solutions.
Support mechanical break/fix requests within manufacturing modules to minimize downtime.
Utilize CAD software to design and analyze mechanical parts, ensuring manufacturability and reliability.
Assess incoming supplier/vendor quality for mechanical parts, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
Prepare documentation and reports related to engineering projects and vendor assessments.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of ISO or other quality management standards.
Proven project management skills with the ability to lead projects from conception to completion.
Proficiency in CAD software and experience in mechanical parts design.
Demonstrated ability to solve manufacturing problems effectively.
Experience in supporting mechanical break/fix requests and developing asset reliability plans.
Knowledge of incoming supplier/vendor quality management processes.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies
