What you will be doing: In this Design Project Engineer position in the Central Region Aviation Design Group, you will manage the design of airport and highway improvement projects from scoping through advertisement for projects throughout southcentral and western Alaska. You will be leading or supervising a four-member in-house design team as the Engineer of Record to develop specifications, estimates, and professionally sealed final plans for capital improvement projects. These projects range in complexity from small, gravel-surfaced airports in rural Alaska to large, international airports designed to handle the some of the world’s largest aircraft. Other occasional duties may include the design of highway projects.

Our organization, mission, and culture: The DOT&PF mission is to "Keep Alaska Moving through service and infrastructure," and your role in this position is directly tied to the most critical aspects of the mission.
