Security Assurance Engineer

Location: Dallas, Tx (hybrid)

Glocomms are partnered with a financial services firm in the search tenured Security Assurance specialists to focus on security testing and configuration of baseline processes. The role will involve conducting tests and assessments of the firms existing infrastructure to deliver to senior leadership in order to strategize and further develop the existing security posture.

Key responsibilities:

• Conduct various assessments under the guidance of senior team members, including cloud evaluations, basic penetration testing, and assessments of networks and operating systems.
• Perform reviews of security, network, applications, and cloud environments as directed.
• Create reports and documentation for different levels of leadership and staff regarding security activities.
• Ensure security controls align with the Blue Team testing program and supporting services, adhering to relevant regulations and industry best practices.
• Assist management in enhancing policies and procedures to support Security Testing and Blue Team initiatives, as well as other emerging security responsibilities.
• Contribute to the development of a security roadmap, implement best practices, and introduce new ideas and innovations based on industry trends.
• Support, enhance, and help develop current processes and tools.

Experience required:

• A solid understanding of security controls and standards across various technologies, including networking, operating systems, Cloud Security, DevOps, and Security Testing.
• Capability to engage in multiple simultaneous testing assignments while ensuring a high standard of quality.
• Ability to critically assess the risk associated with security findings in relation to the overall environment and existing controls.
• Experience in supporting server operating systems, networking, and enterprise applications.
• Familiarity with AWS services, including automation tools such as Lambda and JSON.
• Proficient in DevOps pipelines and GitHub repositories.
• Strong architectural knowledge and expertise in cloud and hybrid cloud infrastructure.
