About the Role:
US Pipe Fabrication is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. Responsibilities will include developing systems and processes that reduce costs, enhance employee safety, improve product quality and increase operating efficiencies and equipment reliability. Functionally responsible to support the manufacturing team including floor support, maintenance, equipment, tool and gauge design, quality, and efficiency issues. 50% travel is possible.
Specific Responsibilities:
  • Process improvement through collection and analysis of manufacturing process data to improve safety, product quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions.
  • Evaluate quality processes and make recommendations for improvements in quality process control.
  • Review and calculate labor, material and other production costs along with reviewing scheduled and future production requirements to assist management to better organize, evaluate and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Integrate facility layouts, production lines, machine operations and network performance.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production and find ways to reduce cost and maximize quality.
  • Proactively identify needs, conceive improvements, consider potential issues, as well as evaluate costs and potential savings to optimize existing machinery and/or processes.
  • Support and participate in the US Pipe Fabrication OPEX program to develop, test and document new and existing production procedures.
  • Lead and support Capex projects related to Manufacturing Operations and participate in the USPF OPEX, Safety and Quality programs.
  • Develop effective automated and non-automated systems. Investigate CNC machinery opportunities, drive introduction and support of new equipment and processes for production.
  • Executes and manages Capex projects from design conception to installation and commissioning.
  • Prepares drawings, project schedules, operating and maintenance procedures, including parts lists, to provide plant personnel with operating and maintenance information.
  • Selection and execution of projects assisted by outside contractors.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required with Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Five to Seven (5-7) years broad-based engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, Lean, CNC and Quality Assurance experience preferred.
  • Ability to organize and think logically, strong mechanical aptitude, broad mathematical skills, practical knowledge of physics and engineering principles and basic drafting skills.
  • Ability to effectively utilize MS Office products and CAD software, preferably AutoCAD.
  • Excellent communications skills with ability to present technical information and solutions effectively.

Working Conditions:
Since this is a heavy industrial environment there will be exposure to fabrication shop operations. The employee will be exposed from time to time to the following working conditions: extreme heat and cold, noise, vibration, oils, and atmospheric conditions such as dust and fumes. • When in the shop production area, the employee will be required to wear a uniform as well as the determined PPE which may include steel toed metatarsal shoes, safety glasses with foam lining, face mask, gloves, a bump cap, or hearing protection.
