Position Overview
DigiCert is seeking to hire a Software Engineering Manager based in our Sunnyvale, CA office. As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of software engineers to design, develop, test, and deliver high-quality software solutions. This role requires a balance of technical expertise, leadership skills, and project management capabilities to ensure the successful execution of software development projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of software engineers.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team culture.
- Provide guidance on technical issues and contribute to skill development within the team.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and define technical solutions.
- Ensure the team follows best practices in software development, coding standards, and testing methodologies.
- Implement and enforce quality assurance processes to ensure the delivery of reliable and scalable software solutions.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies.
- Promote technical and operational achievement by developing measurements and methods for evaluation and advancement.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including product managers, other engineering teams, and upper management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (15+ total years) in software development and team management.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Java, Go, C++) and a strong grasp of software development principles.
- Knowledge of both relational (MySQL, MariaDB) and NoSQL/non-relational (Cassandra) databases.
- Familiarity with agile software-development methodology, such as Agile or Scrum.
- Preferred knowledge of PKI infrastructure.
- Preferred experience working with Cryptography API.
- Preferred experience with Git, JIRA, IDEs (Eclipse, MS Visual Studio).
Salary range $190,000 - $225,000 (actual salary offered to a candidate within this range will depend on a variety of factors including relative levels of experience and education, years in this or essentially similar role, market competition, etc.)
