Overview
As part of the Finance Engineering (FinEx) Procurement team, as a Software Engineer 2, you will be personally involved in leading the designing, coding, and testing features that enable our mission-critical business partners. Continuous Integration & Deployment as well as instrumenting telemetry and alerting will help us monitor our service and diagnose and resolve issues quickly. You will work closely with peers across teams (inside FinEx and across the company) to help build flexible and high-performing SAP MM solutions that enable the next generation of business services. This is a data-driven and fast-paced environment - engineers are empowered to innovate and take ideas from conception to scale. It is an opportunity to work on something highly strategic to Microsoft! This person is accountable for working with Functional Analysts, Product Owners, and other FinEx procurement teams to ensure that ERP solutions are developed, delivered, and aligned to the technology roadmaps which support the business roadmaps and future business scenarios. The Microsoft implementation of SAP is a large-scale enterprise solution featuring SAP ECC 6.0 EHP8 (FI-CO, SD, SCM, HCM, GTS). The individual hired for this position will implement solutions for the Procurement service line using Ariba & SAP technology. Responsibilities
1. Design and develop large scale distributed software services and solutions.
2. Practice Agile+ software development by adding and leveraging Telemetry/Instrumentation to our components and services to drive decisions while executing in an agile cadence for engineering activities such as designing, coding, testing, debugging, and incident management.
3. Adhere to and drive sound software engineering practices through design reviews, system design through well-defined interfaces across multiple components, code reviews, leveraging data/telemetry to make decisions.
4. Develop "best-in-class" engineering for our services by ensuring that the services and the components are well-defined and modularized, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, and reusable.
5. Design and implement an SAP ecosystem that fulfills the company's business requirements, ensuring alignment with overall business strategy.
6. Understand integrated business processes within the SAP module, including interactions with extended business systems.
7. Lead the team in adopting relevant new technologies, tools, methods, and processes from Microsoft and industry.
8. Expose test coverage issues, organize and implement integration tests, and resolve problem areas.
9. Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills.
10. Gain a working understanding of Microsoft businesses and collaborate with mentors and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.
11. Apply coding patterns and best practices.
12. Collaborate effectively with other disciplines of the project team.
13. Identify new opportunities to help meet our customers' needs.
14. Stay educated on existing, emerging technologies and conduct POCs to evaluate technology fits for customer needs.
