Position Summary
This is a senior Java Frameworks developer position for a high priority and highly visible malware analysis modernization program. The individual will work with a dynamic, energic and innovation-driven team to develop new capabilities supporting the front-end processing of data for a mission critical tool. The individual will also support the modernization of the front-end processing services.
Essential Functions Statements
- Java application development – no front-end necessary
- Agile methodology experience
- NiagaraFiles experience
- Twenty (20) years of software engineering experience is required along with a bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline from an accredited college or university. Four (4) years of additional experience may be substituted for the BS degree.
Competency Statements
- Skilled with developing, deploying, and troubleshooting Java applications in a Linux environment
- MongoDB, Spring or Spring Boot, and Kubernetes experience desired
Supervisory Responsibility
This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands
This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities may be required.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position with typical working hours of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require, although no on-call work is expected for this position. Telework up to 50% is being developed for this position but has not yet been approved.
Facility Location: Annapolis Junction, Maryland
Travel
There is not expected to be any required travel for this position.
Required Education, Experience and Certificates
- Education: bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
- Experience: 20 years of progressive experience as a Software Engineer/Developer
- Java application development – no front-end necessary
- Agile methodology experience
- NiagaraFiles experience

Preferred Education, Experience and Certificates
Experience: MongoDB, Spring or Spring Boot, and Kubernetes experience desired

Must be able to accomplish all duties with little or no assistance.
Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Employee must be a US citizen.
Employee must have and maintain a TS SCI Clearance Level, ideally with full scope polygraph
