PROCESS ENGINEER

TITLE: Process Engineer
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To maintain control of extrusion process to ensure consistent quality product meeting all customer and internal quality requirements while maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:

• Chemical degree or equivalent degree preferred
• Minimum five years' experience in polymer related production or related field
• Basic computing skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good oral and written communication skills

• Ensure consistent, dependable attendance and demonstrate a willingness to accommodate non-standard work hours as necessary.
• Capable of effectively managing job-related stress and fostering productive workplace interactions.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Process Optimization:

• Analyze and improve the BOPP film manufacturing process to optimize performance, efficiency, and product quality.
• Develop and implement process control strategies to maintain consistent film properties such as profile, appearance, and physical properties.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, and Maintenance) to ensure smooth process flow and resolve production challenges.
• Author/ update troubleshooting manuals as necessary.

Quality Control:

• Monitor and analyze process parameters and product data to ensure products meet specified quality standards.
• Identify and correct any deviations in the process that could impact product specifications.
• Work closely with the Quality department to troubleshoot quality issues and recommend corrective actions.

Troubleshooting:

• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving process issues related to the BOPP film production.
• Conduct root cause analysis for process failures or quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Continuous Improvement:

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve product consistency, and optimize equipment performance.
• Implement lean manufacturing techniques and other process improvement methodologies to increase productivity and reduce costs.

Safety and Compliance:

• Ensure all operations are following safety regulations and environmental standards.
• Participate in safety audits and support the implementation of safety initiatives within the production area.

Training and Development:

• Provide training and support to production operators and other staff on process controls, best practices, and troubleshooting techniques.
• Stay updated on the latest technologies and advancements in BOPP production and introduce new practices as applicable.

WORK ENVIRONMENT CONDITIONS SUBJECTED TO IN THIS POSITION:

• Inside, protected from weather
• Temperature controlled
• Subject to noise, moving machinery, and/or electrical currents
• Possible exposure to some chemicals, gases, high heat
• Subject to unregulated atmospheric conditions caused by odors, and dusts
