About the Role
As a Software Engineer you will perform moderate research, design, and software development assignments. Working within a specific software functional area or product line, you'll be able to learn new technologies.
Responsibilities
Writing and reviewing portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity
Completing simple bug fixes, and resolving technical issues
Working closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs
Operating in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders
Keeping abreast of new technology developments
Requirements
Have some Software Engineering experience with a good background in Object Oriented Programming (OOP)
Have a BS degree in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent experience
Be proficient in development languages using Java
Be proficient in development with Angular or similar
Have some development experience with front-end web applications
Have a good understanding of data modelling principles, data manipulation languages and storage systems
Have knowledge of databases and the ability to write simple queries
Be familiar with industry best practices, such as code coverage
Have a basic knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
Have an ability and desire to learn new processes and technologies.
Have some knowledge of test-driven development
Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
