Position Summary
Arcadis DPS is seeking an experienced Energy Conservation Engineer to support our client in the reduction of utilities consumption footprint and meet sustainability goals. The successful candidate will drive the and help further refine and define the Clients utilities management strategy for TD facilities. The Energy Engineer will collaborate with facilities teams to identify, fund and implement utility consumption reduction projects. This is an exciting opportunity where the candidate will support the certification of the Client site to the ISO50001 energy management system. The Energy Engineer will engage with multiple stakeholders and partners to analyze energy use, efficiency, and performance across sites to identify improvement opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities shall include but not limited to:

  • Collaborate with project managers and project engineers and contractors on new construction/renovation projects to deliver retrofit projects.
  • Review construction designs for energy efficiency and energy efficiency updates to design specifications; review and challenge cost estimates, budgets and ROI analysis
  • Development of, and delivery of energy training and energy use/efficiency awareness and reporting.
  • Manage Facility Management company performance on Energy efficiency of assets under control.
  • Management of State/ ODOE, ETO or Utility company incentives. Be POC for their agents.
  • Understanding Federal and State Energy Efficiency regulations, their implications and required strategies to comply.
  • Renewable Energy technology integration; Frequency/Demand Response; Grid Ancillary Services
  • Energy Efficiency Opportunity Development
  • Provide technical leadership to initiate, and partner with facilities and fab engineers to scope and develop energy efficiency opportunities.
  • Carry out measurements, engineering calculations and feasibility studies to determine energy efficiency project viability to progress to design and implementation.
  • Development of Measurement and Verification Plans to IPMVP/ISO 50006 standards.
  • Identification of resources and required funding. Prioritization, approval and project management of resources.
Education and Experience
The candidate must possess at least one of the following:
  • Bachelor's degree, Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering, Chemical or similar facilities discipline and 3+ years of relevant facilities ownership or energy management experience
  • Master's degree in mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, Electrical, Energy Engineering, Chemical or similar facilities discipline and 2+ years of relevant experience.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to influence and drive energy efficiency initiatives at the site level and supporting Intel wide energy efficiency initiatives. Communication skills, both written and verbal with ability to achieve results.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication and ability to collaborate and influence.
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge boundary conditions and develop innovative strategies and actions.
  • In depth knowledge of the design, operation, and control of systems: including chillers, air handlers, exhaust systems, boilers, compressed air; pumping, reverse osmosis, air separation in such applications as industry, cleanroom, data centers, and office buildings.
  • Understanding of energy use and operational energy efficiency improvement strategies. Good understanding of rest of world practices with respect to energy efficiency and how these practices would be reapplied at Intel including automatic fault detection.
