The Opportunity
As a founding engineer at Seekeasy, you’ll work with our CTO and founding team at the core of the technology that powers our recommendation engine. You’ll use the latest advancements in AI, including computer vision, language, speech, and generative ML models, work in a flexible development environment that gives you the tools and the freedom to experiment and work fast, and shape the foundations of our products and the way that we build them.
Responsibilities
Build our core services : Design, implement, and maintain Seekeasy’s core backend infrastructure and distributed, large-scale data processing pipelines using efficient, testable, and maintainable code.
Build our ML infrastructure : Work with data scientists and ML engineers to train, integrate, deploy, and evaluate ML models and APIs that power Seekeasy’s recommendation intelligence.
Shape our development processes : Maintain and improve our developer tooling, build, and deployment systems to ensure reliable production releases.
Ensure our products are working : Ensure high service availability by implementing logging, monitoring, and alerting for production services. Lead outage incident responses, identify and troubleshoot application issues, and optimize services for efficiency and scalability.
Lead and mentor : Guide the growth of our engineering team as we scale. Your experience will be invaluable in nurturing talent and fostering a culture of innovation.

Your qualifications
Proficient with Python, AWS services, Git, relational and key-value databases, and search databases such as Elasticsearch or Opensearch.
Proficient with build systems such as Bazel, Pants, Buck, Please, or other similar internal build systems.
Proficient in software engineering operations methodologies, such as DevOps and MLOps.
Passionate about AI and its potential to transform user experiences, and have experience with training, deployment, and inference with machine learning models.
A problem-solver who thrives in the ambiguity and fast pace of startup environments.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
A seasoned backend engineer with 8+ years of experience and a track record of building scalable systems.
Live in the San Francisco Bay area and can commute to our office in San Francisco.
Previous startup experience is a plus – even if you have not worked at a startup before, we want you to understand the expectations.
Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary of $120,000 - 150,000/year, increasing as the company achieves fundraising goals.
