We have openings for a FPGA/ASIC Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals in the Tactical Space organization. The position will be located in Dulles, VA.

Responsibilities:

  1. Research, requirements analysis and systems architecture.
  2. Design, coding, test bench design, verification, synthesis and place & route for our Command and Data Handling (CD&H) products.

The qualified applicant will join the Electrical Engineering Avionics department that specializes in FPGA/ASIC for space applications.

Basic Qualifications:

  1. 9 years of relevant professional experience with a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or other STEM discipline; 7 years with Masters; 4 years with a PhD.
  2. Experience with VHDL design or Advanced verification for FPGA's.
  3. Must have hands-on experience with VHDL within the past 3 years.
  4. Well versed in VHDL design for an aerospace environment or space application.
  5. Proficient in FPGA design flow including RTL/gate level simulation, synthesis, place and route, static timing analysis, and power analysis.
  6. Experience with translating system requirements into programmable logic requirements, design documents, and test specifications.
  7. Proven experience defining architectures or team leadership.
  8. US Citizen.
  9. Must possess an active/current Top-Secret/SCI.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Experience with DSP, MATLAB, and SimuLink.
  2. Experience with VHDL design for Software Defined Radios.
  3. Experience with Xilinx and Microchip (RTG4) devices.
  4. Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Tools: Vivado, Quartus, QuestaSim.
  5. Knowledgeable in FPGA physical constraints and achieving timing closure.
  6. Experience with board or system level debug using test equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  7. Generation of Test Benches and support of formal VHDL Verification.

Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
