Job Description
Join a dynamic and diverse team responsible for maintenance and enhancements to the Department of Health's Enterprise Applications, including our enterprise service bus, database work, and development projects. This is a small, collaborative team working closely on a variety of technologies with many opportunities for cross-training and professional growth.

We are looking for a highly motivated and dynamic individual who will contribute to the success of a team of Analyst Programmers in developing, deploying, and maintaining information systems to help improve the quality of life for Alaskans.

- Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving: uses a logical, systematic, sequential approach to address problems or opportunities or manage a situation by drawing on one's knowledge and experience base and calling on other references and resources as necessary.
- Ability to learn structured programming techniques and codes and the ability to adapt to changing environments and new technologies.
- Knowledge of current computer system principles.
- Computer Languages: Knowledge of at least one programming language such as .Net or C#, Understanding of generally agreed upon best practices for software development.
- Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
- Ability to contribute to a strong, supportive team environment.

Minimum Qualifications
Analyst/Programmer 2:
One year of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of the experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer system user support specialty.
Substitution:
A bachelor's degree with a major in Computer Science (CS) or Computer Information Systems (CIS), or a related degree with (18) semester/(24) quarter hours of CS or CIS may substitute for all of the required experience. An associate's degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems may substitute for nine months of the required experience.
Analyst/Programmer 3:
Two years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
Analyst/Programmer 4:
Four years of computer programming experience in a recognized computer language. One year of this experience must have been in a business application, scientific application, microcomputer or computer information management support specialty.
