Job Description:
Insight Global is looking for an Application Scientist Team Lead to join a leading semiconductor client in the Hillsboro Oregon area. An ideal candidate is someone who is a highly technical, motivated individual to support growth in the metrology market. This individual will be responsible for leading a small team of highly motivated engineers to develop high-value, innovative materials metrology applications in semiconductor manufacturing. This person will apply scientific methodologies and robust statistical techniques to optimize applications for the high-volume manufacturing (HVM) fab environment: and provide region support for new product introduction and evaluation activities (beta, head-to-head).
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Be a customer centric applications and product expert
- Promote best known methods for XPS/XRF and SIMS solutions
- Perform strategic customer demonstrations of solutions
- Support development of new application features and assist in their market penetration
- Manage customer requests and requirements in a timely and professional manner
- Lead a small team on projects and daily activities
- Mentor and coach less experience engineers
- Train and update field applications engineers
- Support installation, maintenance and sustaining of products
- Assist end-users and service engineers in troubleshooting products in the field
- Work with customer on joint publications and technical reports
- Be able to travel up to 25%, both domestic and international
Required Skills and Experience:
- Degrees in Engineering, Physics, Material Science or relevant fields. Graduate degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of optical metrology system.
- 3-5 years of experience in a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of HANDS ON SIMS experience , A strong background in metrology technologies, especially SIMS (Secondary Iron Mass Spectrometry), XPS, XRF highly desire
- 2+ years managing team members
- This lead will oversee 3 Application Scientist
- Serve as right hand man to Applications Manager
- Strong customer facing skills!
