Event Registration
The Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority ( SEPTA) is seeking to hire Engineers for various Transportation Projects. We are America’s 2023 FORBES Best in State Employer!

SEPTA will be hosting an Engineering Recruitment Event on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
  • Come out to speak with the Hiring Managers, and Human Resources Staff.
  • We will be conducting onsite interviews for those who qualify.
Applicants must register and select the positions which match your degree and employment experience. Additionally, highlight any coursework, work experience or personal project experience you have had related to the specific position of interest to you.
Interviews and vacancies are for the following disciplines: Civil, Mechanical and Electrical
ELIGIBILITY
  • Registration is required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA.
  • Engineering Degree must be from an accredited College or University. Additionally, seniors who are on track to receive their Engineering/Architecture degrees at the end of the current semester or in the Spring 2025 semester, are also invited to apply. Offers will be contingent upon successful completion of their Engineering program.
  • Some positions require a valid driver’s license.

  • HOW TO APPLY

    SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Consults with senior level engineer/supervision in project definition.
    • Exercises proper judgment in application of engineering and quality assurance principles.
    • Assists in preparation of budgets for proposed projects and work to be accomplished through third party.
    • Generates written memoranda, technical reports, specifications, audits, presentations, etc. in a professional effective manner.
    • Generates equipment specifications for procurement purposes in sufficient detail to ensure contractor/vendor interpretation.
    • Adapts to team efforts where indicated in resolution of matters not suitable for singular contribution.
    • Interfaces with Governmental Agencies and, as necessary, other transit Authorities concerning pertinent matter.
    • Complies with all Authority and departmental safety and security policies and procedures as well as all applicable job safety responsibilities. Reports any safety concerns, compromises or hazards affecting operations, the public, self and/or other employees. Responsible for personal safety and is encouraged to promote the safety of others.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
    SENIOR PROJECT ENGINEER
    These positions are responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be of "significant complexity" in size and scope. This position is further responsible for providing technical support and direction for engineering/quality assurance activities including the definition and coordination for design review and implementation. Also, establishing inspection plans, program/project development and consulting, statistical methods, audits, and continuous improvement approaches.
    Salary Range: $112,476.00 - $5,000 salary increase for those with a Pennsylvania PE/RA License
    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and seven years of relevant engineering experience is required.
    PROJECT ENGINEER
    These positions are responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be "complex" in size and scope. This position is further responsible for providing support for engineering activities and continuous improvement approaches.
    Starting Salary: $101,790.00 - Mentors available for those seeking EIT registration/$5,000 salary increase for those with a Pennsylvania PE/RA License Requirements: Bachelor's Degree and five years of relevant engineering experience is required.
    ENGINEER III
    The Engineer III position requires an extensive background in engineering. This position is responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be of " moderate significant complexity" in size and scope. This position is further responsible to provide technical support and direction for engineering/quality assurance activities that are consistent with SEPTA mission values and goals.
    Starting Salary: $84,864.00 - Mentors available for those seeking EIT registration/Additional $5,000 salary increase for having a Pennsylvania PE/RA License.
    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Architecture and three (3) years of relevant employment experience is required.
    ENGINEER II
    Utilizing knowledge gained from previous years of engineering experience, this position is responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be of "moderate complexity" in size and scope. This position is further responsible to provide technical support and direction for engineering/quality assurance activities that are consistent with SEPTA mission values and goals.
    Starting Salary: $76,024.00 - Mentors available for those seeking EIT registration
    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Architecture and one (1) year of relevant employment experience is required.
    ENGINEER I - ENTRY LEVEL
    This position is responsible for undertaking engineering/quality assurance assignments that are considered to be of "basic complexity" in size and scope. This position is further responsible to provide technical support and direction for engineering/quality assurance activities that are consistent with SEPTA mission values and goals.
    Starting Salary: $69,628.00 - Mentors available for those seeking EIT registration
    Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Architecture (no employment experience required).
    • Additionally, seniors who are on track to receive their Engineering/Architecture degrees at the end of the current semester or in the Spring 2025 semester, are also invited to apply. Offers will be contingent upon successful completion of their Engineering program.
