Job Description
The Software Developer is responsible for developing, supporting, and delivering application solutions, ensuring best practices for business processes, and optimizing ERP/WMS platforms and related systems. Collaborating with various business stakeholders, this role is vital for providing ERP and other business application solutions in a 24/7 discrete and process manufacturing environment.
In this role, the Software Developer will leverage a combination of business knowledge and technical skills to integrate functions, applications, tools, and information from various sources into workstation processes, aiming to improve end-user productivity. Responsibilities include integrating third-party applications, facilitating secure and effective information exchange, supporting installed applications, and effectively communicating with users to achieve business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze requirements for complex business processes and technical problems, working with end users to define business data issues and devise effective solutions.
- Ensure a high level of customer service, align with the organization’s expectations, and minimize production downtime while adhering to approved operating and capital budgets.
Job Tasks and Required Skills
- Develop and implement IT application and ERP solutions to bridge gaps between business processes and system functionalities. Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, identify improvement areas, and develop and implement solutions.
- Apply knowledge of relational databases (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, DB2, PostgreSQL, etc.) and reporting tool vendors (IBM, Microsoft, AWS, SAS).
- Maintain a working knowledge of developing applications and systems in cloud environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure, BOX, etc.).
- Use visual analytics platforms like Microsoft Power BI and experience with SSIS, SQL Analysis Services, and OLAP cubes.
- Develop with Microsoft PowerApp, SharePoint, SharePoint Lists, and workflows.
- Leverage experience with developing and consuming RESTful API web and EDI services and file formats (XML, JSON, etc.).
- Troubleshoot production-related application issues, debug and implement changes. Assess user requests for new or modified programs to determine feasibility, cost, time requirements, compatibility with current systems, and computer capabilities. Perform maintenance and system changes to improve efficiencies, performance, and reliability.
- Consult with users to identify current operating procedures and clarify program objectives. Research and document overall system descriptions, batch processes, flows, and dependencies.
- Participate in after-hours on-call support for major incidents.
Education Requirements
A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience Requirements
Five years of relevant experience is required.
