Job Requirements / Description

Required Skills & Experience


* Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering * Experience in liquids OR natural gas measurement * Proficient with MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access) * Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and Process Flow Diagrams, including flow charts, cause/effect diagrams, P&IDs, and fabrication drawings * Working knowledge of natural gas measurement standards (49 CFR Part 192, ASME B31.8, AGA, API, GPA, etc.)


Nice to Have Skills & Experience


* Experience with Fisher or Emmerson manufactured products * Working knowledge of natural gas transmission pipeline operation (filtration, heating, pressure vessels, odorization, measurement, regulation/control design) * Experience developing control schemes, flow diagrams, P&IDs, and minor mechanical sketches * Extensive understanding of gas transmission measurement and control equipment (operation, sizing, selection, function, maintenance) * Experience with natural gas chromatography and natural gas quality equipment * Understanding of device communications and protocols for industrial applications


Job Description


A midstream oil & gas client in downtown Houston is looking for a Measurement Engineer to join their Mechanical Design Engineering team. This person will be primarily responsible for designing P&ID's off of PFD's (process flow diagrams), reviewing design/construction drawings, and equipment evaluations for SOW estimates. They will work with customers, suppliers, third party engineering firms, and internal Project Management teams.
