About the Job

Shorts is a re-think of the YouTube product experience, designed for mobile creation, vertical viewing, and a broad creator base. Shorts Creation aims to make YouTube the best platform for creators to succeed through industry-leading tools and experiences that make it easy to create engaging Shorts. We want to be their home for creation.

At YouTube, we believe that everyone deserves to have a voice, and that the world is a better place when we listen, share, and build community through our stories. Working at the intersection of cutting-edge technology and boundless creativity, we move at the speed of culture with a shared goal to show people the world.

  • Build out the creation platform to better scale features, onboard partner teams, increase developer velocity, and share components across broader YouTube creation.
  • Launch high-impact creation features end-to-end that millions of creators will see every day.
  • Collaborate across many other YouTube creation teams (e.g., Posts, Live, Studio, Music, ACE Effects) to onboard their features to Shorts and build out the platform to support their needs.
  • Be exposed to a variety of technologies across client, server, cross-platform, logging, and metrics.
