JOB SUMMARYThis position serves as a lead for the mechanical engineering group with experience in the Oil and Gas industry.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESPrepare and coordinate detailed design of projects in compliance with governing codes, regulatory requirements, and Client standardsUnderstand and be able to coordinate project cost, estimating, scoping and scheduling development and administration.Supervise and coordinate other engineersSolve problems by using a combination of standard procedures, modification of standard procedures, or methods developed in previous assignmentsComplete independent studies, analyses, interpretations. and conclusionsGive technical guidance and mentor engineersAble to work without supervision and review of work for technical accuracyAble to be given an opportunity and can then define the scope of work to accomplishCoordinate and assign project work with other disciplines to meet client's safety, cost, quality, schedule, technical and operability objectivesWork closely with program lead to monitor project performance metrics in order to ensure scope, schedule and budget are meeting expectations.REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIESProficiency with computerized project management and reporting tools - requiredExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to perform effectively in a fast-paced work environment with multiple priorities and deadlinesSupervisory Experience -- requiredExperience developing and approving pipe specifications.Experience in design, specification, application, and modification of rotating and fixed equipment, such as:Pressure vesselsHeat exchangersPumpsCompressorsTurbinesExperience in:Equipment drawing review and approvalP&ID development and reviewMaterial selectionPiping layoutPipe Stress Analysis.Excellent working knowledge of ASME pressure vessel and piping codes, API standards, and other industry standards.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Understanding of inter-discipline requirementsStrong organizational skills.Strong understanding of consultant engineering workflow and project execution.Strong computer skills - Microsoft Applications (Word/Excel) and engineering software programs, such as CAESAR II, COMPRESS, and FEA programs.Capable of some travel and remote site assignments.Applicants must be able to obtain a TWIC card.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCEB.S. in Mechanical Engineering from ABET accredited university or equivalentPE preferred8-25 years engineering experience - preferably in the petrochemical industry with a strong background in Oil and Gas Production and Refining, Gas Compression and Transmission.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSAble to sit/stand for long periods of time.Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a timeField trips to job sites (local and/or remote) will be required, so applicant must be open to travel and remote site assignmentsAnvil Corp is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) Employer.
