Energy Engineer

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform utility data analysis, end use profile, and maintain the EUI library of commercial facilities.
• Conduct on-site surveys of a facility’s equipment and systems and how they are operated and controlled.
• Write up field notes and meeting minutes.
• Learn what data to collect when on site taking field notes.
• Know or learn how to perform energy calculations, weather bin calculations, and energy modeling.
• Write the building envelope, mechanical, and electrical system descriptions for the energy services proposal.
• Assist with the Scope Development and Preliminary Design of the proposed systems.
• Understand the different IPMVP measurement and verification options and the key variables to measure for energy savings.
• Collect trends for the M&V report and write up the M&V Report.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Writing, communication, and presentation skills.
• Excel skills and experience with Windows software platforms.
• Ability to work well in a dynamic work environment and team atmosphere.
• Strong work ethic.
• Good attitude and eagerness to learn.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Engineer-in-training (EIT) preferred.
• 0 to 10 years’ experience in energy analysis, site surveys, and interviewing clients about equipment operation.
• Building construction knowledge and mechanical systems experience is a plus.
• Revit proficiency is strongly preferred.
• Experience with Trane Trace 700 or other modeling software is preferred.
