Team Into

Coupang app’s product detail page is called SDP, we provide our customers detail product introduction. SDP team at Coupang builds a platform which is crucially important for the Coupang E-Commerce business. This team focuses on building world-class SDP platform service and providing attractive benefits with 7 * 24 reliable system. The team is looking for staff engineer with experience in E-Commerce to expand and continuously improve the gateway portal systems.

Roles and Mission

In this role, you will be leading regional diverse teams as tech leads and building Coupang’s next-generation SDP platform systems that (1) ensure system scalability and availability with rapidly increasing traffic and member volume (2) serve Coupang E-Commerce in multi global markets with flexible system architectures. You will be working closely with pre and post purchase funnel engineering, Mobile engineering, Product Managers, UX/UI designers and will build cross functional relationships.

Responsibilities

1. Provide leadership and technical direction and ensure that our engineers are working on building scalable and fault-tolerant systems.
2. Identify problems and gaps in systems with deep dive, come out with the resolution to completely address problems.
3. Engage with senior engineering group and contribute to solve large-scale tech problems across multi-engineering teams and set best engineering practices.
4. Contribute to hiring the best engineers and developing/mentoring engineers across the engineering group to raise the engineering bar.
5. Communicate clearly and concisely with the team members, peers, and leadership team.

Basic Requirements:

1. Bachelor/Master/PhD in Computer Science or Engineering, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in software development in Object-Oriented development environment.
3. Demonstrated experience in creating a vision, influencing cross-functionally and driving a technology organization to meet ambitious goals.
4. Experience with large distributed systems.
5. Strong delivering software products competency in an environment with rapidly changing requirements and appropriate trade-offs.
6. Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive. High on bias for action.
7. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. 3+ years of experience in E-Commerce domains with hands-on architectural experience in delivering innovative products in the relevant space.
2. Experience working in distributed systems with high traffic and high data volume.
3. Experience working with geographically dispersed global teams.
