Inspired people, amazing designs, and projects with purpose.Job DescriptionOlsson provides multidisciplinary design services for mixed-use, commercial, and residential land development projects, along with industrial, sports, schools, and other site development types. As a Civil Designer, you will recommend design techniques and minor design changes to ensure the best approach to solve engineering and design needs.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:Performs detailed design work on projects including preparation of drawings and layouts, reviewing project specifications, and performing design calculations.Conducts research on various design concepts and techniques and develops approaches to enhance project design work.Performs complex computer-aided design assignments and ensures designs align with project objectives and quality standards.May review drawings, prepare project cost estimates, and attend client meetings.Maintains project documentation including drawings, specifications, and project correspondence.Assists in the preparation of environmental impacts or other project studies.May supervise, coordinate, and review work for less experienced staff members.May be required to work in all types of terrain and weather conditions and on project sites in various stages of construction.We are currently seeking a Civil Designer for our Site Design team, and will consider candidates interested in being located out of our Plano, TX, Fort Worth, TX, Oklahoma City, OK or Tulsa, OK office locations.QualificationsYou are passionate about:Working collaboratively with othersHaving ownership in the work you doUsing your talents to positively affect communitiesYou bring to the team:Strong communication skillsAbility to contribute and work well on a teamAssociate Degree in Drafting preferredMinimum of 8 years of CAD software experience (AutoCAD Civil 3d)Solid interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and the ability to generate effective solutions to complex problems.Has an understanding of high-level engineering design capabilities and advanced knowledge of applicable technologies.Additional InformationOlsson is a nationally recognized, employee-owned firm specializing in planning and design, engineering, field services, environmental, and technology.
