Summary
We are looking for a BI Developer who brings Power BI experience to the table, ideally with a background in developing dashboards and reports to support a finance team. This position will sit on the Financial Reporting team, with a goal of 'shortening time to insight'. Currently, we're still using Excel to manually create and analyze reports, and this position's goal is to automate these processes. We seek someone who is passionate about the insights their work brings and can creatively help us think through solutions to meet the common goal of 'shortening time to insight'. You'll be touching all aspects of the business: CapEx, FP&A, Senior Leadership, Procurement, and more.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and maintain value-add Power BI Dashboards and assist in system and process improvement.
• Perform special ad-hoc analysis and projects.
• Extract and summarize various research and industry data publications including RealPage (Market Analytics, Performance Analytics, Axiometrics, MPF, AI Revenue Management), Green Street Advisors, Oxford Economics, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Census Bureau, etc.
• Prepare and review recurring reports such as:
  • Quarterly board meeting presentation, coordinating with various teams (Capital Analytics, Transactions, FP&A, Revenue Management, Strategic Initiatives, etc.) on deliverables presented to the senior leadership team, highlighting performance, industry trends, and macro trends.
  • Monthly market trends report, aggregating and reviewing industry data impacting the multifamily sector including employment, wage and job growth, new supply, rent and occupancy trends, affordability ratios, and lease trade out.
  • Monthly financial reporting results package, extracting and aggregating portfolio data, preparing summary spreadsheets, graphs, tables, and Microsoft Power BI Dashboards, evaluating performance metrics, highlighting notable issues and trends, and developing meaningful and insightful commentary.

Skills we're seeking

• 1.5+ years of experience with Power BI Development .
• At least some experience developing financial related dashboards/reports and/or working in a financial services related industry.

Nice to have experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT related field or a Finance related field.
• SQL experience (writing queries, extracting data).
• VBA experience.
• Experience presenting findings and recommendations to key stakeholders.
