Backend Software Engineer, Global E-commerce Risk Control Platform

The e-commerce Risk Control team is dedicated to protecting TikTok Shop from fraudulent activities and user abuses, ensuring a trustworthy and user-friendly marketplace for buyers, sellers, and creators. As a global team, we are developing and managing foundational platforms including the risk decision engine, enforcement framework, and model & graph platforms.

Responsibilities:

1. Design, implement and maintain a highly scalable, reliable and efficient risk control solution for US TikTok Shop.
2. Work closely with the US product, data, and operations teams to develop features and enhance platform capabilities. Mitigate fraud attacks and user abuses efficiently.
3. Develop best-in-class real-time computing, high concurrency and high scalability engineering practices across all product engineering disciplines.
4. Provide prompt and efficient support for managing risk-related issues within the US region, ensuring quick and effective risk mitigation.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

1. Solid problem-solving skills and strong software programming capabilities, exhibits good code design and coding style.
2. Deep understanding of data structure, algorithm design and analysis, networking, data security and highly scalable systems design.
3. Ability to provide elegant and efficient design solutions.
4. In-depth knowledge of common databases and messaging frameworks like MySQL/Redis/Kafka/MQ etc.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Bachelor or higher degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience developing highly scalable backend services and systems using at least one of Java/Golang/Python.

Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $129200 - $205000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
