Title: Manufacturing Engineer

Location: Katy, Texas

Salary: $90,000 - $115,000


Duties:

  • This position will support the development, design and testing related to heated water jet unit components and assemblies.
  • Perform calculations related to thermal design requirements and performance.
  • Models detailed parts and assemblies to analyze design feasibility.
  • Supports product design activities in accordance with project or proposal schedules.
  • Must maintain an attitude supportive of continuous improvement, teamwork, cooperation, respect, and integrity.
  • Provide technical design, analysis, and guidance for new product development and product improvements.
  • Lead and participate in efforts to solve problems with product design, inspection, manufacturing, and test encountered by vendors, operations, and customers.
  • Plan, organize, control, and lead multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Establish and oversee accomplishment of multiple project objectives.
  • Support targets and milestones for project budgets and schedules.
  • Participate in resolving program change of scope issues with Engineering Lead and Program Management.
  • Ensure standardization of products and adherence to engineering processes across multiple projects.
  • Supports continuous improvement by offering input to standard processes and procedures.
  • Component design study and improvement for cost reduction and first-time yield.
  • Lead and participate in cross-functional Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations.


Qualifications:

  • Process Optimization - Ability to analyze and improve manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Mechanical and Electrical Systems - Understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, including machinery and automation technology.CAD Software - Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software like SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or CATIA for designing and modifying production layouts and machinery.
  • Lean Manufacturing - Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) to improve productivity and reduce waste.
  • Six Sigma - Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies for quality control and process improvement, often including certification.
  • Quality Control - Expertise in quality control techniques and standards, such as ISO 9001, to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Project Management- Skills in managing projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and completion within budget and time constraints.
  • Statistical Analysis - Ability to use statistical tools and software to analyze data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Material Science - Understanding of materials and their properties to select appropriate materials for manufacturing processes.
  • Manufacturing Equipment - Knowledge of various manufacturing equipment and technologies, including CNC machines, robots, and other automation tools.
  • Root Cause Analysis - Ability to identify the root cause of manufacturing issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Troubleshooting - Skill in diagnosing and resolving problems with equipment, processes, and production methods.
  • Systems Thinking - Capacity to view and analyze manufacturing processes as interconnected systems to identify improvements and efficiencies.
