Program Overview

The Comcast Cooperative Educational Program (Co-op) immerses students into the daily operations of a contemporary media and technology company while working side-by-side with Comcast’s top innovators. Designed for students whose curriculum allows for a cooperative learning track, the co-op becomes an integral part of the Comcast team working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units. Throughout the experience, there is opportunity for exposure to mentorship and professional development while having some fun along the way.


Role Overview

Comcast/SKY’s Technology & Global Product organization works at the intersection of media and technology. Our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products that transform the customer experience. From creating exciting products like the X1 Video Gateway, XB broadband gateways, wireless router technology, and new features such as the Talking Guide on the X1 platform, we work every day to make a positive impact through innovation in the pursuit of building amazing products that are enjoyable, easy to use and accessible across all platforms. The Wi-Fi QA team is centered in development and supports the ever-evolving IEEE technical standards for Wireless network architecture, including next-generation consumer systems and technologies, infrastructure and engineering, network integration and management tools.


We are looking for a highly motivated technical person who will help usher the latest IEEE 802.11 standards, drive change and help others to constantly come up with better solutions to evaluate Wi-Fi products that Comcast and SKY deploy in their 50+ million subscriber footprint. We are looking for an individual that values quality, performance, and the customer experience; as well as persist in Wi-Fi excellence. We are looking for someone who does not just know how to solve problems, but who helps define the problems and direction, creates value, and pioneers new frontiers in characterizing Wi-Fi behavior in our products.


Co-op Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To

  • Assists in developing Quality Assurance test philosophies and methodologies for product functionality and characterizing Wi-Fi behavior in our new products.
  • Collaborates with Product and Development teams to identify product and technical requirements.
  • Communicates with tool development teams to make best use of automation for new test features introduced.
  • Familiar with basic Wi-Fi and networking standards and industry trends.
  • Assists in the identification and resolution of problems and defects; able to initiate investigation processes, identifies and reproduces bugs or defects and drives issues and improvements to resolution.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Avid interest in technology and understanding of products that use WiFi in the commercial space.
  • Preferred Majors: Electrical Engineering, CS, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Networking, Systems Engineering.
  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree from a United States-based college or university that has a cooperative learning track.
  • Available to work 40 hours per week for 6 months starting April 1, 2024 through September 20, 2024.
  • Available to report in-person to the work location provided above.
  • 3.0 minimum cumulative GPA preferred.
  • Authorized to work in the United States of America.

Base Pay: $32.00
