Controls Engineering Manager

We are currently searching for a Controls Engineering Manager for a machine build and tooling company in Wixom, MI. This is a direct hire opportunity.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and Startup of Controls Projects including PLC's, HMI's, Motion, Network Communications, and Robotics
• Write software from scratch for PLC and HMI.
• Start up and debug support on shop floor.
• Onsite installations at customer site. 25-30% travel throughout North America.
• Assist controls service department when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelors or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• Minimum of ten years of experience in the controls automation field
• Proven ability in software development and ability to troubleshoot machines
• Experience in Safety Systems and Requirements
• 70% Allen Bradley (SLC/PLC and Logix Platforms)
• 30% Siemens (Step 7 and TIA Portal Platforms)
• Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
• Proven management or senior leadership experience

Preferred Experience:

• Motion with electric drives, hydraulics, and pneumatics
• Knowledge of Safety Circuits
• Knowledge of Analog Control Circuits
• Familiar with presses, tool carriers, shuttles, material transfer gantries
