Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI) is looking for a Technical Manager (Civil Engineering, Infrastructure) to join our team! We are a leading engineering firm known for quality, responsiveness, and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil engineering firm. As the Technical Manager (Civil Engineering, Infrastructure) , you will manage, along with the VP of Engineering and IT Manager, the procurement of all CAD software, licensing renewals, and hardware. In this role, the Technical Manager will be responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining an IEI CAD Standards Policy by establishing standards and best practices for productivity, including customizing templates, styles, blocks, and tools which are crucial to productivity; also includes understanding, creating, and maintaining standards for digital delivery in IEI markets. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Works with Engineers, Project Managers, and other personnel to define and implement CADD applications for given projects.
• Monitor and maintain client-specific standards and notify the technical team when changes occur.
• Manage the transition from the client's acceptance of proposal to program initiation.
• Collect and evaluate statistical and technical information for use in the department; and recommend state-of-the-art products in both hardware and software.
• Develop an effective risk mitigation strategy for the program, including time and financial contingencies.
• Responsible for auditing or overseeing the audit process for the drafting standards, folder structures, and all updates are performed as required by End-Client.
• Identify and implement the right training and support for CAD-specific software like OpenRoads, Civil-3D, MicroStation, etc.
• Analyze and evaluate current Autodesk, Bentley, and other similar software; and lead the effort on full transition to ProjectWise for project development and maintain the ProjectWise environment.
• Provide proper support to staff while enforcing drafting and project development standards. Provide technical mentoring; and direct the development of new methods and routines of CADD to assure optimum utilization of all CADD Technicians and CADD equipment.
• Implement CAD templates and other design technology tools.
• Develop CAD documentation, training materials, and coordinate/deliver training.
• Excellent written and oral communication (English – Mandatory) skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education:
• Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline or computer science preferred. An Associate’s Degree with a focus in Drafting, computer-aided design (CAD) with a minimum of 5 years’ related experience considered.
• Candidates with commensurate training and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree may be considered.

Experience:
• Five or more years of progressive drafting and design experience.
• Three years of experience in supervising and/or organizing computer graphics operations.
• Advanced AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and OpenRoads experience.
• Ability to define methodology, best practices, and reporting/communication guidelines.
• Proven hands-on experience with software development lifecycle.
• Strong understanding of industry standards and best practices.
• Communication skills both verbal and written to effectively convey accurate, detailed, and complex information, ideas, and concepts to various audiences in a manner in which they understand.
• Delivered presentations to groups on technical programs and software while answering questions from participants.
