We are looking for passionate problem solvers who are eager to collaborate on projects to improve the built environment and the world we live in.As a Mechanical Engineer at C2AE you will be working on multi-discipline project teams, collaborating to bring a project from concept to construction. You will be responsible for designing and detailing in BIM from initial design through construction for HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection systems, coordinating with other disciplines, developing mechanical specifications and establishing/achieving project quality standards.RESPONSIBILITIESDesign (90%)Prepare and modify engineering documents as directed by a Professional Engineer.Create and manage mechanical BIM models from initial design phase through construction for HVAC, plumbing and fire protection system designs.Prepare bid and construction drawings including system and equipment layout, diagrams, schematics and schedules consistent with quality and BIM standards.Support Revit Team in creating and managing BIM templates, families, libraries and details for the mechanical discipline.Provide assistance with engineering activities including calculations, fixture selections, code reviews, QAQC and LEED compliance.Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established standards.Use discipline-specific software to assist with the design, including data collection, analysis, and equipment selection.May work in the field to collect data for other teams, assess existing conditions, and review construction progress & quality.?Write detailed field reports.May assist team in construction administration document management.?Other related duties as assigned.Administrative (10%)Participate in team meetings, all staff meetings, and other non-billable planning sessions.Participate in training and development activities as needed and directed by supervisor.Perform administrative tasks including, but not limited to, time sheet completion, expense reports, completing correspondence, etc.TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university, required3-5+ years of relevant work experience, requiredProfessional Engineer in Michigan or New York, preferredExperience using Revit, preferredPHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONSAbility to sit for prolonged periods of timeAbility to stand for prolonged periods of timePhysical dexterity and ability to negotiate around a crowded and busy working office area, and around a crowded and busy working area, including construction sitesORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSReports to: Mechanical Engineering SupervisorDirects: N/AFLSA CLASSIFICATIONExemptEQUAL OPPORTUNITYC2AE prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type and affords equal employment opportunities to employees and applicants without regard to race, creed, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, alienage, citizenship status, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, military service, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, height, weight, pregnancy, marital status, partnership status, familial status, caregiver status, domestic violence victim status, or any other charact
