Chief Engineer

Job Overview:

The position requires 10 years of general experience in building trades, repair, and maintenance. The maintenance department currently has a staff of 3 people.

Responsibilities:

1. General repair and maintenance of water-cooled chillers, gas boilers, pumps, elevators, and mechanical systems.
2. Knowledge of drywall, welding, concrete repair, painting, and plumbing is a plus.
3. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs while following appropriate safety procedures.
4. Work in various positions including stooping, standing, bending, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods.
5. Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level (maximum 14 ft on A-frames and 21 ft on extension ladders).
6. Work in different environmental conditions (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity).
7. Maintain a valid Florida driver’s license.
8. Work after hours and weekends to attend to emergencies.

Qualifications:

1. Effective written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish is a plus.
2. Strong computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of Building Link is a plus.
3. 10 years of experience in mechanical systems maintenance (Required).
4. Driver's License (Preferred).
5. Ability to relocate to Miami Beach, FL 33141 before starting work (Required).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
