Interested in learning how to work on next Charger locomotives and Venture single level coaches? The state-of-the-art locomotives are diesel electric with Tier 4 4,400 Client diesel engines. Our vehicles are connecting cities all over the United States and we are working together with the customer on site to achieve the main goals for the warranty period. This job will train you on how to troubleshoot, repair, and perform field modifications to achieve a high customer satisfaction and improve reliability. We are looking for someone who enjoys working hands-on and is interested in learning more about electrical/mechanical systems.


Responsibilities:

  1. Commissioning and Warranty of locomotives and/or coaches.
  2. Troubleshooting and analysis of failures on locomotives or coaches.
  3. Perform mechanical and electrical repairs of various components using mechanical drawings, schematics, and location circuit plans.
  4. Use laptops with subsystem software to troubleshoot various systems onboard the locomotives.
  5. Diagnose electrical malfunctions in locomotive or coach control circuits and components, assess the nature of problems, and identify corrective action needed.
  6. Read, interpret and understand written or electronic information to identify the root cause of failures and compile reports for your site lead and warranty manager.
  7. Understand and follow company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures.
  8. Implementation of Field Modifications (FMIs) to improve the quality of our product.
  9. Document failures, part exchanges, implementation of FMIs, and your performed work in our Commissioning and Warranty database.
  10. Communicate in a team, to the site lead and colleagues, verbally and in writing, technical information, job procedure recommendations, improvements and other work-related information.
  11. Receive and send out failed parts for repair (RMA).
  12. Work with shop machines and hand tools.
  13. Working full hands-on.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience:

  1. High school diploma (or GED).
  2. Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  3. Individual must possess a valid Driver's license in good standing.
