Position Summary:

The Sr Director of Cloud Operation at Perforce is searching for a Manager of DevOps to join the team. The DevOps Manager will lead a team of DevOps engineers, overseeing the implementation and management of DevOps practices within the organization. This role involves developing and executing the DevOps strategy, ensuring smooth and efficient operations, and fostering collaboration between development and operations teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the overall DevOps strategy, aligning it with the organization's goals and objectives.
  • Lead and manage a team of DevOps engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful delivery of projects.
  • Collaborate with software development, system administration, and quality assurance teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on DevOps projects, initiatives, and performance metrics.
  • Establish and enforce best practices and standards across development and operations teams.
  • Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure as code to streamline development and operations workflows.
  • Drive automation initiatives to minimize manual efforts and improve productivity.
  • Identify and mitigate risks and issues related to software delivery and infrastructure maintenance.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies related to DevOps and suggest relevant improvements to the organization.
  • Foster collaboration and communication between development and operations teams, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 12 years of industry experience in Cloud Operations or Software Development, including at least 3 years in a managerial role with hands-on technical expertise.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), Virtualization (VMWare), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Proficiency in observability tools such as ElasticSearch, Splunk, Grafana, NewRelic.
  • Proficiency in DevOps tools and technologies (e.g., Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible), cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Excellent leadership and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Familiarity with site reliability engineering (SRE) principles and incident management standard methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.
  • Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams, spread across the globe and departments.
